A Week of Discovery and Doing

This week was quite the week, with working out, boxing, transitioning, running errands, reading, writing, editing my friend’s novel and keeping up with my weight for the Navy. It was definitely busy! My life right now seems to be full of health and fitness, getting in shape for the Navy and for myself. Almost everyday I was feeling some sort of soreness or pain in my muscles. It was a matter of learning to push myself.

I did attend my first boxing class on Thursday at Roufusport Academy. I love my gloves! I love the class! I love the energy! I love boxing! A great amount of time was spent on foot works and the importance it is in keeping one’s balance and delivering more power when punching.

I was also talking to an old friend who graduated with a culinary degree and has his own business for being a personal trainer and nutritionist. It was extremely motivating talking to him. He’s also very big into health and fitness. We were able to catch up and bounce ideas off of each other. I have been thinking a lot about being a lifestyle coach and something with being a motivational speaker. He was giving me advice on what kind of certifications I should consider looking into. He was also the first person I have shared this business idea with. I even told him about my YouTube channel and featuring him one day.

I have also reached a decision of laying off on building a business right now as I have 3 months left until boot camp. I’m planning to continue building on my blog while getting fit as a way to establish credibility for when or if I do go on being a lifestyle coach. I have been working on being disciplined in all areas of my life and learning to accept how I must obey the rules, regulations and orders I am instructed to follow while being a part of the Navy (I don’t really like playing by the rules). Lastly, I have been planning another trip down to Kansas City, MO in March.

I have come to see how much results I can deliver when I put my mind into doing things. The words of my cousin haunted me throughout this week, “Mimita, I know you can do it. I know you may not like it but you have always found a way to do what is required of you.” That’s a strength of mine I have forgotten about. I know it’s hard at first but I’m becoming more willing to let go and give things a try. For the record, yes, I have always found a way to get things done or figure out a solution when there seems to be none. So I can do this. I have done it before and I can always do it again! The only thing that will stop me from accomplishing anything is me.

I’m glad to be ending this week with a movie marathon, rented 6 movies from Redbox: I Am Number Four, Friends With Benefits, Crazy Stupid Love, Abduction, Priest and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Time to get back into gear!
